The 5DT HMD 800 offers the user affordable quality, a 40 degree field-of-view, high resolution (SVGA), a crisp OLED image and superior sound quality packaged in an ergonomic and light design. Other features include adjustable top/back ratchets, a mounting base for headtrackers and a flip-up mode for reality-checks.

For night time military applications the HMD 800 can be configured to include a Virtual Laser Range Finder (LRF) and Virtual Night Vision Goggles (NVG) options.
