INITION to host Handle Recruitment’s Future of Retail Networking Event

The trend of consumer retail activity migrating from the high street to online has led to an influx of innovative initiatives from big brands hoping to revitalise their ‘bricks and mortar’ presence.

Following on from October’s successful Evening of Immersion for Businesses, Handle Recruitment’s Digital and Technology Division are again inviting executives from within the retail and e-commerce space together for an exploration of the union between technology and retail.

On Tuesday March 3rd, INITION are excited to be co-hosting the Future of Retail event in our Shoreditch Demo Studio.

Aimed at retail executives, the event will explore the potential impact future-tech advancements could have on the sector and how new and emerging technologies can be successfully integrated into applications within the retail space.

Schedule and format

18:00 – arrival and registration

18:30 – Welcome and introduction from INITION’s Managing Director, Simon Dutton and from Co-founder and Creative Director Andy Millns who will be making an appearance via a robot.

18:45 – First keynote of the evening from Kate Ancketill, CEO of GDR Creative Intelligence, a London based specialist in strategic inspiration for retail, will show how new technology is changing the way we live and shop.GDR is unique in having spent over 20 years building a worldwide network of the very best architects, designers, digital technologists and creative agencies and will be joining us a week before her appearance at Retail Week Live.

19:15 – Second keynote of the evening from Neil Tinegate, Head of Digital Innovations and Design at Argos, who will focus on successfully driving digital innovation in house. Neil has spearheaded Argos’ innovation team, developing projects that reflect both strategic initiatives and a culture of exciting new tech ideation. Neil will also be delivering a keynote speech at Retail Week Live the following week.

19:45 – Senior 3D Creative, Alex Lambert, will also be discussing some of INITION’s biggest tech retail projects to date – including our Topshop Virtual Reality Catwalk, Mr Porter x Google Kingsman Movie Experience and our Gareth Pugh x Selfridges ‘Monolith’ VR installation.

20:00 – Following the discussions, drinks and nibbles are provided and guests are invited to explore our range of future technologies, projects and applications on display in our Demo Studio including augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing and robotics.
