An update to the popular Artec Spider, the newly-launched Artec Space Spider scans small objects quickly, in high resolution and brilliant colour. As part of the well-established Artec portfolio, this new scanner takes the proven technical capabilities of its predecessors, with the advantages of operating enhancements to maximise the efficiency of the scanning process.
WHAT THE MANUFACTURER SAYS:
Launched in mid-2015, the Artec Space Spider draws on the best features of the Artec Spider. The upgraded handheld 3D scanner is one step ahead of the competition having originally been developed to work in space, it features an enhanced cooling system, which enables it to reach optimal operating temperatures and achieve maximum accuracy much faster.
The Artec Space Spider is an update to the Artec Spider which is the original handheld 3D scanner for CAD applications. Scanning with an accuracy of up to 50 microns and resolution of up to 100 microns, meaning that this scanner is most effective when digitising small-sized objects with intricate details, sharp edges and thin ribs.
With incredible precision, high resolution and accuracy, multiple measurement tools enable the user to fulfill requirements for quality, eliminate manufacturing errors and measure deformations.
The Artec Space Spider introduces new, unreachable level of detailing. Create highly-detailed CG scenes by digitizing small objects in brilliant color. Artec Spider captures color information at 24 bits per pixel (bpp) with a resolution of 1.3 megapixels (mp). These detailed, textured models can be used in such industries as CG and animation.
WHAT INITION SAYS:
The Artec Space Spider is an interesting addition to the Artec portfolio. As an improvement to the popular Artec Spider which is excellent tool for product designers and engineers who are looking to scan smaller objects with complex geometries. Perfect for a range of purposes, the Artec Space Spider comes with the Artec Studio software and excellent customer support from the team at Artec.
