Product Overview

The world’s smallest absolute orientation sensor measuring ~0.4in3, Inertial Labs OSv3 combines sensor technologies of magnetometers, gyroscopes, and accelerometers to measure orientation changes on any object. Designed initially for use in human motion applications, OSv3, has a high dynamic range (up to 1,200 deg/sec rotation rates) and a miniature design for ease of use when mounted to virtually any object.

WHAT THE MANUFACTURER SAYS:

Within the system algorithms of OSv3 Inertial labs has included temperature compensation to allow for use in a variety of indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. Additionally, with the inclusion of a metallic casing, Inertial labs has improved the sensor robustness to handle the demands of the most challenging applications.

The sensor outputs include heading, pitch and roll, as well as offering outputs of all 9 sensing axes allowing for flexibility for inclusion into a variety of applications. At under $1000 for single piece quantities, the OSv3 is also the most affordable sensor of its class.

Inertial labs also offers a board level OEM version as well as custom designs based on the OSv3 for any number of applications.
