Large Scale Holographic Projection Launches Shell Technology Centre

The Brief

Shell tasked Inition to wow and excite the media about their newest global technology hub

Our Solution

To engage a packed room of journalists and delegates, Inition created a dynamic time lapse animation sequence based on real CAD data of the planned construction. To ensure the presentation was memorable and one which truly brought the animation to life, a holographic-style “peppers ghost” solution was provided.

A large 10m x 4m screen was constructed and a projection pit was integrated with the stage for a seamless finish. Three Panasonic PT‐DZ110 DLP projectors were used to create the images which were controlled by a 3DVidbox player.

The Result

Keri McBurney, Events and Exhibitions, Shell Oil International, was delighted with the results saying: “We strive to stay innovative with the technology that we utilise to get our content across. There were a lot of people asking if it was going to work so there was a lot of pressure on our shoulders.”

She continued: “The first time we started our conversation with Inition, we really felt at ease and comfortable that they knew what we wanted.”
