Creative production company lnition will be heading over to Austin, Texas this week to present interactive augmented and virtual reality applications as part of the Hackney House initiative at the South by Southwest Festival from March 7th to 10th.

The 4 day programme of art, design, music, film, product launches and interactive displays are built around daily themes that reflect Hackney’s core vision and mission; DESIGN, MAKE and PLACE.

Available to try will be the Gareth Pugh Monolith experience which was first shown to the public at Selfridges London to mark London Collection: Men’s Schedule.

The two minute immersive virtual reality experience takes people into the mind of leading British fashion designer, Gareth Pugh, reflecting his strong aesthetic with surreal visuals and an original atmospheric soundtrack by artist Matthew Stone.

Hackney House visitors will also be able to try the Inition ‘Built to Thrill Wingsuit Experience’ designed to immerse participants in a multi-sensory 3D world inspired by close-proximity wingsuit flying as well as the Topshop 360 degree video experience which was the world’s first live 360 transmission in a retail environment.

Andy Millns, lnition creative director, will be present throughout the three days and welcomes visitors who are curious to see how immersive and powerful VR and AR can be:

“This is the first time lnition has been at the SXSW festival and it is perfectly aligned with the interests of lnition — creativity and cutting edge technology. It will be a pleasure to present a handful of our AR and VR work to a new audience and we are looking forward to meeting new potential partners and forming new international collaborations”
