Stereoscopic
3D Production / 360° Film Production
Stereoscopy (often abbreviated
to 'stereo') adds the extra dimension of depth to a moving
image enabling the viewers to become immersed in the action. We
are able to offer a range of stereo viewing solutions and
content suitable for a single viewer to hundreds. We have
installed stereo theatres, both permanent and temporary, the world

Inition has many years experience
providing the latest stereoscopic content, hardware and customised
solutions to our customers. In addition
to our stereoscopic movie production facilities, we are able to
provide a wide range of 3d display technologies. These include projected
and small-screen stereo, viewed using active LCD shutter glasses,
passive polarised glasses, both circular and linear or autostereoscopic
(glasses-free) displays.
   
The stereo content can be
generated in a number of ways: computer-generated (CG) or filmed
live- action.
Rendered (CG) content
can be generated from most 3D modelling and animation packages.
Two separate animations are created, each rendered from a slightly
different position. This technique is used where there is no interaction
required. e.g. in stereo movie theatres, product promotion and architectural
visualisation.
 Filmed
live action stereo content can be used in place of traditional
(monoscopic) content to add depth and realism to any piece. Typically
two video cameras are used to capture the left and right eye images.
Inition has a wide range of experience supplying and using stereo
video equipment, from stereo camera mounts to live on-site stereo
preview systems.
The stereo video from both rendered
and filmed pieces can be stored and played back in a variety of
formats including interlaced, top/bottom, side by side, and dual
stream, depending on the display devices used. Inition has developed
a number of simple to use systems to help with the playback of stereo
content the most popular of these is the stereo replay unit.
Inition's stereo replay unit
(3d-VidBox)
allows two streams of broadcast quality PAL, NTSC or HD video to
be replayed. Multiple stereo video sequences can be loaded into
a play list and played in response to an external event (i.e. pressing
a play button or a person entering a room) or looped, all controlled
via infra-red remote.
