Inition recently assisted Shadow Robot Company in the development of a robotic hand for the Ministry of Defence.

Inition supplied the motion capture equipment and expert advice to help Shadow Robot develop the teleoperation for their Motor Hand. The complex robotic hand allows bombs to be defused remotely over a wireless connection.

The Ministry of Defence has been testing the equipment for the past 6 months and is excited by the possibilities provided by the Robotic Hand technology, which could see active duty in the new year.

There is great interest in further utilisation of the system for handling of other hazardous materials in the medical and nuclear fields.
