Inition
help Amersham to demonstrate new radioactive waste processing facility Following the commissioning of
a number of very successful stereo Since 1983, with the curtailment of the policy of disposal of radioactive waste in the sea, these concrete and lead-lined drums have been kept in storage. Amersham resolved to retrieve the waste, sort and repackage it in a manner suitable for long-term storage. This required the building of a brand new purpose built facility at Amersham's Harwell site. Inition's brief was to produce a short and engaging video that would convey to the public the processes Amersham Plc use in order to deal with the waste in a responsible, safe and environmentally acceptable manner. The project was completed within a tight
schedule, taking only four-weeks from concept to completion. Created in
conjunction with Storm Design Studio and MGA International, the experience
takes the audience on a journey through the plant from the moment the
old drum is cut open to the repackaging of the waste in modern lead-lined
long-term storage containers. The use of stereoscopy
