stage explosive 3D finale to £1million car show

Inition deployed a number of new technologies for a
large-scale stereoscopic 3D projection for the MPH '05 show at
Birmingham's NEC and London's Earl's Court. MPH is a unique concept
that combines a display of the finest cars on the planet and a
stage show hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and Tiff
Needell. BAFTA award winning set designer John Napier (famed as
the set designer of Cats and Les Miserables) again called upon
Inition's 3D services after their successful collaboration with
stereoscopic sequences in Starlight Express, currently touring
the UK.

Inition's
3D tour of cutting-edge design and manufacturing establishment

Opened in September by Sir Terrence Conran, Metropolitan
Works is a new state-of-the-art digital manufacturing centre in
Central London. To show off the complex, Inition were asked to
create a 4 minute stereoscopic tour of the centre's advanced facilities,
aimed at inspiring and educating the next generation of digital
designers. This is the first stage in a collaboration that will
see Inition install a high-specification Duality
stereoscopic visualisation suite at the centre's Central London
studios.

3D Services replicate Bell 206 Helicopter

Inition provide a 360 degree 3D replication of a helicopter
cockpit for use with a HMD and motion base training simulator.
Photogrammetry techniques, careful 3D modelling and custom texture
maps combined to produce an efficient but accurate low polygon
model.

Inition appointed official resellers of Hexamite and Aeroscout

Inition are proud to be official resellers of new large
scale wireless motion tracking systems from Hexamite and Aeroscout.
Aeroscout uses Active Radio Frequency Identification
to track tags attached to people, assets, and equipment as well
as mobile units such as laptops, PDAs, barcode scanners and RFID
readers. Infrastructure used is a standard Wi-Fi wireless network.
A real-time software engine provides clear graphical feedback
on location and current state.
Aeroscout introduced the first Wi-Fi based Active
RFID tag system, and are market leaders with a system that is
flexible enough for indoor and outdoor environments. Recent large-scale
installations include the child finder system for Legoland Windsor.
Hexamite introduce the HX5, a very affordable
and flexible wireless ultrasonic tracking system. The HX5 components
are purchased as needed and assembled into any configuration.
There is no fixed limit to coverage. Now tracking in large areas
is affordable and easy, and the components are also available
in weatherised and underwater versions.

collaborate on 3D film installation for Goldsmiths Fine Art Degree
Show.
31/05/2005
Cara Barry, a Fine Art student at Goldsmiths College, approached
Inition for advice on producing a stereoscopic film for her degree
show installation. Inition worked with Cara providing technicial
expertise and equipment. Cara's film exploits 3D projection by
the use of multiple layering in keeping with the conceptual aesthetic
of her work. It develops on her previous techniques, adding an
eerie dimensional overlap by its adoption of stereoscopic technology.
Cara's work is available to view at Goldsmiths College in New
Cross, South East London, from 16th to 20th of June.

took delivery this week of the first stage of its substantial

Saturday.

were captured by eighteen tiny inertial sensors in GypsyGyro-18
motion capture suit - and then projected in real time in the guise
of a live 3D character designed by Inition.

Paving specialists Marshalls are producing – for the first
time ever - perfect replicas of historic National Trust flagstones,
thanks to 3D scanning technology provided by Inition. The scans
are to be used to create unique moulds for specially coloured
concrete.

to capture the unique pitted and ridged surface of protected flagstones,
in some of the National Trust's finest properties.

of Art to unravel the facts about Medieval Jewellery

The Royal College of Art's Department of Metalwork and Jewellery
has just taken delivery of immersive VR technology and a render
farm from Inition. The equipment will be used in a project to
explore various aspects of the design and use of jewellery in
Medieval Northern Europe.
The department says, 'We needed to acquire specific hardware
and software solutions that required advice from a specialist
supplier - we found that at Inition. After detailed discussion
the resources we agreed on were delivered and installed by Inition's
technical team to fit in with our project timetable. Future development
of the project will require the projection of stereo images showing
human figures at full-size - Inition have already advised us regarding
the technological solution best suited to our needs. '

This June Kew’s aquarium breaks its banks
to spill virtually onto the walls, with the very latest in 3D
computer animation. ‘Swimming with Phytoplankton’
is an ethereal underwater projection that lets viewers walk the
oceanic bed and swim among the microscopic world of plankton in
the manner of Bug’s Life or Antz. The project, which is
part of the New Views of Kew season, was conceived by artist and
