Case Study:

Augmented Reality Atrial Fibrillation for a Pharmaceutical Company

Tagged:

The Brief

7.4 Limited, a medical communications consultancy, approached Inition to create an augmented reality solution for their client, a leading pharmaceutical company, to demonstrate a common heart condition called Atrial Fibrillation. Atrial Fibrillation is the most common cause of irregular heart beat and can cause blood clots to form which can in turn lead to an increased risk of stroke.

Our Solution

Inition provided a web based augmented reality model of a heart and brain showing the link between atrial fibrillation and ischaemic stroke.

This software has been designed to create awareness of the heart condition and its symptoms by bringing the condition to life using 3D animations which show how these blood clots can be transported through the circulatory system to the brain.

The Results

The educational augmented reality initiative can be found at www.theAFheart.com where the user simply prints out the marker card and holds it in front of the webcam to start interacting.

A video demonstration of the augmented reality software can be seen here.
