Case Study:

3D Printing for Shotopop’s Johnnie Walker Campaign

The Brief

Design studio Shotopop appointed Inition to produce a range of physical 3D objects to help develop a scenic photoshoot in association with Johnnie Walker Whisky for their Chinese mid-autumn marketing campaign.

Our Solution

Collaborating with Shotopop and their CAD designers, we optimised the drawings to convert them into 3D printable files. The range of data was printed on our ProJet 660 Pro, a full colour 3D printer.

The selection of prints included objects such as animals, UFOs, moon craters, planets, bee hives, a 33cm tree and various fruit pieces representing the tasting notes of the whisky.

The complex design of the tree meant that it had to printed in one single piece and would not have been possible with any other production methods within the required timescale. Great care had to be taken to ensure none of the intricate details were damaged during the post processing phase.

The Result

The prints can be seen in the embedded final campaign images used by Johnnie Walker.
